My Story

I had always wanted to be a high school teacher and I loved science, but half-way through college, I decided that what I really wanted to be was a nurse. Nursing combined my love for teaching, science, and helping others. I continue to love nursing because it feeds my insatiable desire to learn, and I’m able to translate what I learn into ways that can improve patient’s lives.

I am very passionate about providing access to advanced testing and treatments beyond what is offered in traditional medicine. I strive to offer what it is that I would want as a patient. For example, when I am a patient, there are three things very important to me. 1) I want to be told about other options that are available, 2) I want to be part of the decision-making, and 3) I don’t want to feel ridiculed if I disagree with the practitioner.

I’m equally passionate about listening to patients, validating their experience, and allowing more time to ask questions, learn, and discuss what is important to them. I also believe that patients are experts on their bodies and deserve to be treated as a partners and not patronized.

My Style

As you may be able to tell by now, my style is relaxed, friendly, honest, nonjudgemental, and direct. I take a lot of time behind the scenes creating individualized recommendations and treatment plans because everyone is unique. I take the time with patients that I would want to be taken with me.

Fun Facts

I’m a Colorado native and army brat. Before returning to my home state, I lived in Germany and Utah, among other places. I’m married and have two grown sons and two four-legged fur-babies; a Great Pyrenees mix named Bear and a Pomeranian named Abby. For fun, I love spending time with family and friends, I love to travel, quilt, laugh, and learn.
